Media Accreditation for the meeting of Pope Francis and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew

Accreditation

Media wishing to cover the visit of Pope Francis and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew must become accredited with the Israeli Government's Press Office (GPO) through the GPOs press card registration page.   Please read through the instructions carefully—including how to fill out the registration page with non-Israeli passports.  If the payment system doesn't accept your ID/passport number, please write the number "18" (without the quotes) as your ID/passport number, below your credit card number.  The application must be filled out online.

It is strongly recommended that after your online registration, media should send the reference number they receive via email to the appropriate Israeli Government Foreign Press contact (listed below) responsible for your region/country so that your registration can be tracked and to ensure that your request gets routed to the appropriate individual.

The GPO has setup a specific page with information (including accreditation) for press wishing to cover the schedule of Pope Francis—including the meetings between Pope Francis and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.

Media inquiring about additional accreditation information for the schedule of Pope Francis—including the events of Pope Francis in Jordan and Palestine should consult the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem's web site.

Media Center

The GPO will operate a media center with full facilities and live feed (TV, Internet & stills) in order to support visiting journalists throughout the visit. The media center will be located in the Mamilla Hotel, 11 King Solomon St., Jerusalem. It will open on Thursday, May 22. Every GPO card holder is welcome, without charge.  For questions, please contact Sharon Nissim  or GPO Director Nitzan Chen.

Press Tours

Press tours are available before, during and after the visit.

The GPO and the Ministry of Tourism will offer tours in Jerusalem and throughout the country for visiting journalists, about the three monotheistic religions and related sites. The tours will take place daily from Thursday May 22 until Tuesday May 27. They will depend on a minimum number of participants and are subject to change. A GPO card and registration are necessary to participate.
